CHECK OUT SOME OF OUR MOST ASKED QUESTIONS
What is an initial consultation and why do I need one?
Your free initial consultation (or “meet and greet”) is a chance for us to get to know you and your pets, answer any questions you may have, discuss the services we will be providing, and go over our service contract and policies. This initial home visit is free of charge and is important step in helping us get to know your animals and their needs. You’ll also get a chance to show us where you keep pet supplies, how you’d like us to enter your home, and any other preferences you may have. (To schedule your consultation, call us at 360-232-4215, or email [email protected].
What happens at an initial consultation for animal nursing services?
Your free consultation for animal nursing is not only a chance for us to “meet and greet” with you and your pet(s), it is also a necessary step in determining what type of in-home pet nursing you need and whether we are the best provider for you. Our Licensed Veterinary Technician will review any written directives you have from your veterinarian, as well as answer your questions and address your concerns about in-home pet care. Your animal’s health and well-being is our top priority, so we’ll work together to make sure that we are the best fit for you and your pet. Depending on the type of treatment you need, we may need to establish communication with your veterinarian to make sure that your pet’s treatment is consistent. Pricing will also be determined at this time, based on the services required. Before an animal nursing consultation, please obtain any written instructions your veterinarian has given you for home care, and have copies of your pet’s medical records available for our review.
If we determine that, for any reason, we are not the best fit to provide care for your pet, we will provide you with appropriate referrals for veterinary care.
Can I combine in-home animal nursing with pet sitting services?
Absolutely! We strive to meet each client’s individual needs on a case-to-case basis. We understand that your pet may require enhanced care while you are not at home, and we’re happy to provide pet home nursing services/treatments (when needed) during regular pet sitting visits. Every case is unique, of course, and we’ll discuss all the details at your free initial consultation.
What kind of insurance do you carry?
We are fully licensed, insured and bonded. We carry a pet sitting insurance policy through Pet Sitters International (provided by Business Insurers of the Carolinas), as well as an “employee dishonesty bond.” We will be happy to let you review these documents at your initial consultation.
Are you available for pet sitting services at the “last minute” if I have an emergency?
For our established clients (those who have already used our services and have information on file with us), we will make every effort to accommodate you should you need unexpected or last-minute pet sitting services. While we cannot guarantee our availability in such cases, we will be available to you by phone or email should you need to request last-minute services.
I don’t live in Bellingham, but I’m still interested in your services. How far will you travel for pet sitting or animal nursing jobs?
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you live outside of our “official service area.” We may be able to accommodate your needs, with a possible added fee for mileage. Alternately, we may be able to refer you to a service provider closer to your home. We will do our very best to help you out!
